TOPAFF 2021: the year's 100 French music festival posters mixtape released
The TOPAFF project still goes strong!
Celebrating its 10th anniversary, the 2021 ranking of the year's 100 "most beautiful music festival posters" in France is published jointly on Gonzaï and Dure Vie and as usual the originality, the core idea, the execution of it, the poster's actual visual impact via graphic design, illustration or type are essential for the final list of choices.
"We counted 1700 festivals. Among them, 700 did not have a visual, and 200 had one identical to a previous edition. This left us with a panel of 800 posters" notes the TOPAFF team. "As it has been the case for the last 10 years, we took into account all the visuals, even if the festivals were cancelled or postponed."
The final result is a creative overview of the graphic creation around the musical events of 2021.
"Like any award list, it is subjective and can be criticized. The most important thing is to put forward the works, the creations, the artists and designers. The ranking allows disagreement, reflection, opinion and therefore debate" adds TOPAFF that holds true to its mission.
To bring these illustrators, graphic designers, painters, photographers, these artists at the intersection of music and visuals into the limelight for all to know.
