OFFF is on! Paula Scher, Matt Willey, DIA, David Carson & more in Barcelona
For three days, this year's OFFF 2022 conference promises to remap the creative field via stories, case studies and a star-studded line up.
The International Festival of Creativity, Art and Digital Design of Barcelona returns on May 5, 6 and 7 always aiming to showcase the latest trends in the field of creativity and design.
OFFF 2022 returns after last year's virtual format with an in-person 3- day edition “all set to feature many of the main voices of the creative industry that have set the trends of digital imagery and contemporary visual creativity.”
DIA Studio, Rick Banks (F37®), Andy Cruz (House Industries), Matt Willey, David Carson, DixonBaxi, Christoph Grünberger, Joshua Davis, Musketon, Paula Scher (Pentagram), Porto Rocha, Refik Anadol, Stuart Langfield, Timothy Goodman and more creative professionals are to become an element in OFFF’s ever expanding creative DNA.
OFFF “continues to be a worldwide reference event and since its launch in 2000 has been organized in more than 40 cities, with upcoming editions in Barcelona, Tel Aviv and Seville. Today, OFFF is a way of understanding visual creativity” notes the festival’s team force.
“The lineup of the 21st edition will be one of the strongest in its history, featuring more than 62 speakers from the field of creativity, design, visual art and digital culture. The program will highlight conferences, workshops, masterclasses, installations, and creative sessions in different spaces of Disseny Hub Barcelona: Roots room, Open Room, AND room... and the new Agora space that will host the masterclasses. As every year, the festival will also provide free access to the Fun Zone in the outdoor area of the Disseny Hub coupled with a gastronomic experience and live streaming space of the conferences.”
“Featured guests include the iconic David Carson, who will lead a workshop where the public can create their own poster using his famous collage technique; DixonBaxi, the design agency with offices around the world; and Joshua Davis, who will unravel his creative path along the years. There will also be talks by Lobulo Studio, the creative colourist Musketon, one of the most acclaimed graphic designers at the moment, and partner of the design consultancy Pentagram Paula Scher, as well as Porto Rocha, Refik Anadol, who is one of the pioneers in the aesthetics of artificial intelligence, the writer and director Stuart Langfield, and the muralist and illustrator Timothy Goodman, among many others.”
Barcelona-based VASAVA studio rebranded the 21st OFFF edition with a brand new visual identity.
This year’s return features a collaboration with the Wix Playground aka “On the Rise 2022”, a “project-based competition for designers, illustrators, creative directors and other emerging creative professionals to showcase their work and receive recognition from the international creative community.”
Continuing the successful collaborative relationship with the Wix Playground, OFFF is honoured to give young designers a stage to showcase their work and receive their well- deserved recognition from the international creative community. The expert panel to choose the winner includes Paula Scher (Pentagram), Vallée Duhamel, Porto Rocha, Temi Coker, BUCK, Pep Salazar (OFFF). The submissions are open until April 10th, 2022.
The closing of the OFFF festival will be on Saturday, May 7 with Main titles directed by GMUNK, the visionary whose creativity and innovation has established him as one of the best visual directors worldwide.
