European Design Awards 2020: watch this year’s winners announcement on YouTube today
Earlier this month Tokyo Type Directors Club held it's awards ceremony on YouTube due to the coronapocalypse -with Parachute's PF Marlet AntiManifesto the winner in the big format print category.
Today, on the last day of a very strange April, the European Design Awards are holding their winning announcement informal ceremony on YouTube for a “united in the distance” creative industry.
“If life was following a normal pace we would be getting ready for the European Design Festival in Valencia. The fact that we are not though, should not mean that we are going to miss out on celebrating success” notes Dimitris Fakinos of a must-attend live event today aka the official announcement of this year’s European Design Awards 2020 Winners.
The announcement comes almost a month and a half earlier than initially scheduled and it is going live at 6 pm CET on ED’s dedicated YouTube channel with special announcements posted on ED’s Facebook event page.
The event features an impressive list of guest presenters from all over the globe who will read out loud this year’s best of the best ED winners.
John Walters from Eye magazine, Christine Moosmann from Novum, Iris Ljesnjanin from Smashing Magazine, representatives of various European Designers Association, and “the top man himself”, the president of the International Council of Design Johnathon Strebly will be part of this online fest of creativity in pure safe mode. The cast of presenters will honour this year’s winners from their own homes and offices for a “fast-paced, informal and interesting” winner’s night.
The digital event comes after the previous ceremonies in Oslo (2018), Warsaw (2019) and right before Valencia which will host next year’s event as announced.
