Bauhaus overload: Paper #08 is out
"Now that the #Bauhaus is finally more than 100 years old, the 8th issue of Paper is devoted to that institution and its impact on Modernism" tweeted Erik Spiekermann and we are more than ready to explore Paper's first bilingual issue ever.
"As a Berlin based publication consumed with typography and design we would be remiss not to include an issue of Paper devoted to the Bauhaus and its impact on Modernism" notes p98a.
"Our magazine is one of the lucky heirs of that Bauhaus spirit, championing craftsmanship, simplicity, and durability, and combatted shoddiness, imitation and dilettantism."
The eighth issue of Paper is written by Klaus Klemp, an expert on early twentieth-century German design with contributions by R.Jay Magill Jr., Ferdinand Ulrich, Jannis Riethmüller, Julie Heumüller & Erik Spiekermann
The cover design of this very limited printing matter is by Jannis Riethmüller and is letterpress printed on a Heidelberg cylinder by Daniel Klotz at Lettertypen.
In case you crave for "pure design in the first half of the 20th century in and around Germany" Paper has you covered.
