This exhibition puts a new spin on typography as we know it
“360 degrees constitutes a spin. It is also a handy metaphor to describe a way of looking at a subject from every angle and perspective. This simple conceit forms the basis of this book” says Tony Brook, founder and Creative Director, of Spin. On 7th and 8th October 2015, the entire team of the renowned Spin studio is relocating to Sheffield to present a unique experience at the Made North Gallery where it will attempt to redefine the concept of a design exhibition.
Spin: 360º is a project that manifests itself in many different ways: a book, a website, a series of Spotify playlists and now, a living exhibition. The exhibition will not only show Spin’s outputs, inspirations, processes and self-initiated work, but you will also provide the opportunity to view a museum-standard collection of historical graphic design poster and ephemera, as well as the complete library of Unit Editions books. Celebrating the long time in the making studio monograph, Spin is a publication that weighs in at an epic 520 pages and looks at all aspects of their studio life.
Based in London, Spin produces identities, books, marketing campaigns, motion graphics, packaging and websites. Spin’s clients are international, and range in scale from global brands to small one-person businesses in the arts, communication, broadcast, design, electronics and entertainment sectors.
