Watch this amazing short film on Mike Meyers' signs of the times
“Is hand-lettering making a comeback?” asked Rochester Magazine Mike Meyers, sign painter in the old-school, hand-lettered style. “It is. It’s coming back, because people are getting used to the digital stuff. It’s all the same the same the same. What I do today is considered retro or vintage. What’s wrong with that? You can read it, it’s got some style. I’m doing stuff that makes people money” said one of world's most active professionals of hand-lettered typography. His services include signs, murals, and custom period correct signage for any need. “I am good but not perfect, so dedicated nitpickers and chronically unhappy should seek elsewhere” he added with a stroke. This is his story, filmed and edited by Jérôme Sallerin, a typornographer of our kind, in September of 2014 in Paris, where Better Letters organized a workshop full of creativity. “Let’s do it” says Mike Meyers. We sure will.
