Lettering & Typography at the London Design Festival 2016
LDF is set to return and over the next few days the city will fall in love with type all over again. With Adobe Creative Resident Craig Winslows’ Light Capsules x Ghostsigns series of site-specific artworks one of the highlights of the event, LDF 2016 is a fest for the lovers of the design scene.
Created in partnership with Sam Roberts of Better Letters, the light-based pieces will bring the fading ghost signs of Bankside back to life after dark. “Hailing from Portland Oregon, Craig’s unique approach uses projection mapping, and is based on typographic analysis and reinterpretation of the letterforms found in these historic signs” reports Grafik.
Better Letters have compiled a typographic guide (and map) for this year’s LDF, which includes Type Tasting (and Wine Tasting) events from Sarah Hyndman, and an interactive installation by Morag Myerscough and Luke Morgan. Full details on this and the workshops can be found at betterletters.co
