Feed your typographic appetite with this new magazine's custom font
Launched this spring to bring some flavor to our visual menu of our times, Istanbul’s Feed is a seasonal food magazine. “Compared to other food magazines it’s very rich in content. It is a magazine that is made to Feeeeeeed you to the fullest” says the creative team behind of this seasons most tasteful letterforms and graphic elements that pop up wherever they please. “We could have left the logo at the top of the layout like almost all the other magazine covers but we wanted to diffuse it on the whole page just like food gliding on a plate. Like the Pacman in the eighties these e’s right behind each other give you a sense of eating as well.
The Feeeeeeeed logo is a modular form which can be used in different arrangements taking the shape of the medium it is displayed. We displayed the logo at cafes, restaurants and places around shopping malls which distribute the magazine. The iconic e’s on the logo are carried as punctuation marks to the typography which formed the unique DzFeed Fontdz. This unique font also gives us a chance to remind people of the magazine at places beyond the magazine’s editorial design. The logo on the cover serves as a plate and each issue of the magazine consists of a dish belonging to that season specifically. The typography being the plate, carries the photo as the seasonal dish” they explain. “We carried this look & feel on the covers to the whole editorial design. Just like the cover, the objects related to the articles are shot directly on typography in a raw manner. The black and white approach in typography is also kept in editorial design to leave food alone to be the only colorful thing in the magazine”. Feed is about to make you hungry for more. Check it out and feed your typographic self with no restrain.
