Cook Panda in London
Probably some of you typographic freaks know this talent, but we are here to ensure that you are definetly going to love this guy: Stephen Walter, based in Zurich, a leading typographer and illustrator. Independent style, fresh approach, enormous illustrative and typographical skills. He describes his work as 'typo-tecture', and believes type should be an integral part of any design rather than a super imposed after-thought, often building letters into the structure of buildings or objects. His illustrations are often built by 3D animation software, are characterized by attention-to-detail, often black and white, with high contrast and eye-catching effects. His highest source of inspiration is architecture, and that can be seen by his work; he usually sees and visualizes things in a very different edge rathen than flattened. His talent and his experience, including the collaboration with Stefan Sagmeistar on the artwork of Brian Eno and David Byrne, in graphic design and advertising fields, has given his flexibility to approach even the commercial projects with an artistic approach. His “How to Cook Panda Bears Without Losing Your Soul” exhibition (probably inspired by the Adrian Shaughnessy's book “How to be graphic designer without loosing your soul”) takes place in London at the Coningsby Gallery until February 7 - for details, click here.
