This is how to be creative in the most Brazilian way!
The creation of the variable identity of the IV Brazilian Design Biennial rightly won the Grand Prix of the Red Dot Design Awards. The concept of the identity was precisely driven by its own title, which is “brazilian diversity”. This was the food for thought that the Greco Design, the brazilian design studio, had to offer. Many issues were raised through this theme, among them natural resources diversity, mass and industrial or handmade production etc. and its applications were plenty so as the result could be as flexible as possible. And of course, typography played once again the leading role on the end result: Two letters "D", one for design and the other for diversity, were chosen and were paired to form the letter "B", the initial letters of the Biennal. This combination works also as a logotype and successfully embodies all the values of the festival. Aiming at flexibility in changing messages, a variety of fonts were used to communicate different things depending on their printing or web application. The various objects featured in the exhibition were jewelry pieces, mobility, arts & crafts, furniture and product design, emphasizing further the main theme of its edition: brazilian diversity. The result, if you ask us, is smart and fresh, with clever usage of typography. We love its variety, flexibility and dynamic. Not to mention that the installations look so awesome that turned us green with envy!
