Are you ready to share your typographic love letter with the world?

Aptly named Love Letters Museum, this event is a playful art exhibit that seeks to answer one question: “How do letters, words, and art help us understand and tell our story?”

“We believe in the power of art and story to help us understand and connect with each other” notes the creative forces behind this typographic Love Letter to the world. “It is our attempt to use what we know best (letters, words, and art) to encourage each of our visitors to find and tell their own story. And to find the art in other's stories”. ​

The 15,000-square-foot pop-up typography-infused experience, housed for a limited time at The Gateway in Salt Lake City, serves as an empowering reminder to visitors that “the words they speak and write each day are meaningful and can be used to tell stories and foster connection.”

The exhibit is a collaboration between the lettering and animation studio So Mighty, (founded by Becca Clason and Josh Clason,) and John Connors and Sophie Weichers, leaders of the team behind last year’s wildly successful Hall of Breakfast.

The expansive Love Letters exhibit showcases art in the form of books, stories, words, and letterforms. The exhibit includes 15 site-specific works by world-renowned creators and local artists: Stefan Kunz (Switzerland), Craig Winslow (Oregon), Elizabeth Gray (Virgina), Joseph Alessio (California), Becca Clason (Utah), Ann Chen (Utah), Jill De Haan (Utah), Tayler Mitchell (Utah), Hayley Barry (Utah), Michelle Christensen (Utah), Jesse Draper (Utah), So Mighty (Utah), Fell Design (Utah), Tiny Art Show (Utah), and Everything Experience (Utah).

Participants of all ages are encouraged to explore the possibilities within the 26 letters in the latin alphabet and their ability to say something meaningful when combined to create words.

“After entering through a hidden door in our colorful bookstore, guests can slide down the pages of a giant book, sneak around the side of an over-sided bookshelf to find a hidden Tiny Art Show gallery, climb on giant alphabet blocks, literally cover themselves with Walt Whitman’s words in Utah’s first and only light installation by Craig Winslow, read historic love letters by famous authors, and mail a handwritten postcard” adds Love Letters Museum. 

Love Letters believes that everyone has a story worth telling. So, do write your Love Letter to the world.
